What will a rics home buyers survey tell me?

A RICS Home Buyers Survey is a much more in-depth inspection than those conducted by mortgage lenders. It’s a comprehensive report on the condition of a property to help you find out exactly what you’re buying.

RICS Home Survey – Level 2 (survey & valuation) will:

  • Describe the construction and condition of the property
  • Identify any serious problems
    that need urgent attention
  • Identify things that need
    investigating to prevent serious damage
  • Tell you about problems that may be dangerous
  • Show up any potential issues and defects you need to be aware of
  • Help you decide whether you need advice before committing to buy
  • Enable you to budget for any repairs or restoration
  • Advise you on the amount of        ongoing maintenance required in future
  • Provide a reinstatement cost to help you avoid under or over insuring
  • Provide a market valuation to be sure you’re paying the right price
